This custom-made cleansing mousse will gently wash your skin leaving it squeaky clean!
CAN’T FIND THE RIGHT CLEANSER FOR YOUR SKIN? DO IT YOURSELF!
After making this liquid soap my inspiration lead me to the idea of designing something for cleansing my face. I usually remove my makeup with some makeup remover wipes and they work very well for me but after using them I also need to clean all the leftover oils from my skin. Well, some facial cleansers I’ve tried left me with the feeling of a film on my face, others were drying my skin too much… While trying to find the right one for me, I decided to make something by using the soap base from the mentioned above DIY. Of course, this time I did not use any food color since I was going to use it for my face.
PASSION FOR COCONUT OIL
Moreover, I wanted to make my cleanser as healthy for my skin as I could. Recently I came across a very interesting article written by Petra Evans about the great health benefits of coconut oil:
LET’S START?
So, my ingredients this time are:
1 bar of Ivory Soap
2 ½ Cups of distilled water
½ tbsp. of coconut oil
4-6 drops of lavender oil
2 capsules of vitamin E
And a blender for mixing everything together better
After chopping up the soap bar and blending it with all other components we have this tender soothing foam:
It’s already enriched with coconut oil, vitamin E and lavender. But also, I wanted to give my cleanser some sweet candy aroma, so I added 2 tbsp. of caramel extract to 46 oz. of the base. And I used 1 tbsp. of honey and 1 tbsp. of sugar to increase soap’s benefits.
Adding sugar was a wonderful trick. It turned my soap into a mousse with an interesting jelly-like structure!
ENJOY!
I’ve tried it as my facial cleanser and it worked surprisingly awesome! It washes off all dirt quickly, all the oil and traces of makeup remover and my skin feels really squeaky clean after. It does not leave any unpleasant soapy-like film. Coconut oil, vitamin E and honey soothe and moisturize even very dry skin (but of course it’s always good to use your favorite facial cream after washing). It smells so sweet and yummy and I really ADORE this mousse!! and I’m glad that I can share this little DIY with all of you!
